Driller (Mining)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Driller to operate and maintain drilling equipment at Newmont’s Ahafo Mine in Ghana. The role involves safely preparing rock masses for blasting and supporting daily mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑shift and on‑shift drilling activities following the daily drill plan.
• Attend pre‑shift briefings and receive instructions from the Drill Supervisor.
• Perform pre‑start inspections, checking fluid levels, fittings, and drill alignment.
• Monitor equipment performance and consumable usage to meet planned lifespan.
• Position and maneuver drills using Jigsaw or Minestar GPS systems and set correct angles and depths.
• Start, stop, and coordinate drilling operations with other on‑site workers.
• Operate pre‑split drill rigs (D45KS, DR560, DPi) to execute high‑precision drilling tasks.
• Verify drill plans and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Experience operating drilling machinery in a mining environment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to equipment condition and consumable monitoring.
• Willingness to work on‑site in a shift‑based schedule.
