Finance Officer

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Finance Officer to support the financial management of its projects aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children worldwide. The role involves planning, budgeting, accounting, donor compliance and capacity‑building activities across multiple country sites.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual and quarterly project budgets and cash‑flow forecasts aligned with work plans and donor agreements.
• Provide financial insights to guide programmatic and operational decisions and monitor budget utilization.
• Record and process all project financial transactions in accordance with World Vision policies and donor rules, maintaining vouchers and supporting documentation.
• Ensure timely posting, reconciliation and reporting in the accounting system (e.g., SunSystems, Horizon) and manage petty cash.
• Ensure compliance with donor and World Vision financial regulations, prepare reports for management and donors, and support internal and external audits.
• Manage project cash flow, conduct monthly cash and bank reconciliations, and oversee disbursements to vendors, partners and beneficiaries.
• Support procurement processes through financial due diligence, verify supporting documents and maintain an asset and inventory register.
• Train project and partner staff on financial policies, documentation and reporting, and provide on‑site guidance during field visits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for projects.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance and grant reporting requirements.
• Ability to record, reconcile and document financial transactions accurately.
• Experience in cash management, petty‑cash oversight and procurement support.
• Capacity to train staff and conduct financial reviews during field visits.
