General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will support accurate accounting records, month‑end closing and financial reporting for a leading agro‑processing manufacturer in Ghana. The role focuses on accounts payable, inventory and raw material accounting, and general ledger management within Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and payments, match them to purchase orders, contracts and receipts, and maintain AP schedules and vendor reconciliations.
• Validate product receipt journals, allocate purchase costs (customs, freight, transport) and reconcile inventory, GRNI and vendor accounts.
• Review and post general ledger entries, monitor suspense accounts, clear incorrect postings and support month‑end closing.
• Prepare financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain data integrity in D365 and ensure compliance with accounting principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification or progress towards ACCA, CIMA or ICA preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG or agribusiness.
• Strong background in accounts payable, inventory accounting and general ledger functions.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP) proficiency.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
