Ghana Project Coordinator – Nature‑Based Solutions (Consultancy)

About the role

The consultancy will serve as the National Project Coordinator for the Nature‑Based Solutions (NBS) initiative in the Guinean Forests of West Africa. Based in Accra, the coordinator will lead efforts to develop and scale climate‑adaptation interventions that restore degraded forests and promote gender equality.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the NBS project from start‑up to March 2027, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Engage a wide range of stakeholders—including government bodies, private sector, women’s groups, and environmental NGOs—to co‑design locally relevant nature‑based solutions.
• Build local and regional capacity to use evidence‑based approaches for climate‑change adaptation.
• Plan, pilot, and scale restoration and reforestation activities on‑ and off‑farm.
• Collaborate closely with consortium partners such as CECI, IUCN, Landscape Alliance, former CIFOR‑ICRAF, and the University of Guelph.
• Monitor project progress, produce reports, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Required profile

• Ghanaian national with experience in project coordination for environmental or climate‑adaptation programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups, including women and marginalised communities.
• Understanding of the Guinean forest ecosystem and restoration practices.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
