Hardware Technician (Mining Systems)

About the role

Hexagon is seeking a Hardware Technician to provide on‑site and remote support for mining system deployments. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software at customer mine sites, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy new and upgraded mining hardware and software at customer locations.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, configuration of system software and operating systems.
• Develop procedures and system reports based on customer requests.
• Serve as escalation point for technical issues beyond the Project Engineers' scope.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Maintain project documentation, service agreements, and configuration databases.
• Load configurations, upgrades, and operating systems onto field equipment and servers following change‑management procedures.
• Identify business risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities related to hardware deployments.

Required profile

• Strong, high‑level knowledge of mining systems and hardware.
• Ability to work independently on site and remotely.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication with hardware supervisors, project engineers, and customers.
