Head of Finance – Banking Leadership Role

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the financial function of South Akim Community Bank, ensuring the protection of assets, accurate reporting, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This senior position reports to the Board and supports strategic financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Banking Law, Companies Act 2019, and directives from the Bank of Ghana, ARB Apex Bank, and internal policies.
• Implement and maintain a reliable accounting system and corporate financial policies.
• Coordinate the bank’s budgeting process and consolidate targets.
• Produce monthly and periodic financial and management accounts for internal, statutory, and regulatory purposes.
• Maintain internal financial controls and oversee the General Ledger and fixed‑asset registers.
• Manage treasury functions and ensure adherence to BoG regulations.
• Supervise preparation and submission of statutory reports to Apex Bank, BoG, GRA, external auditors, and SSNIT.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICA).
• University degree in Accounting, Banking, or Finance; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance role within banking.
• Highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and proactive.
• Strong integrity and excellent communication skills.
