Houseman – Hotel Housekeeping Position

About the role

The Houseman supports the housekeeping and laundry teams in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across the hotel. Working on‑site in Accra, you will ensure guest areas are spotless, report maintenance issues, and assist with guest requests.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily line‑up on time, well‑groomed, and secure any assigned keys or beepers.
• Review and update assignment sheets, coordinate additional tasks with the supervisor.
• Remove trash, debris and dust from assigned areas; stock cleaning carts with supplies.
• Clean designated surfaces using proper chemicals, tools and equipment; polish brass to a high gloss.
• Ensure stairwells, fire exits and lift landings remain clear of stored items.
• Empty vacuum bags, maintain cleaning machines, and stock vending stations in public and employee bathrooms.
• Assist with laundry pick‑up policy, support the Laundry Attendant, and keep housekeeping pantries stocked with linen.
• Report any damages or maintenance problems promptly; turn over lost‑and‑found items to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Vocational School Certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar housekeeping role, preferably in a hotel.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, management and service partners.
• Flexible scheduling and physical ability to handle heavy duties.
