In-room Dining Order Taker (local Hire)

About the role

The In-room Dining Order Taker provides courteous and efficient service to hotel guests by handling food and beverage orders from guest rooms. Working closely with wait staff and the minibar team, you will ensure orders are accurately entered into the POS system and communicated to the kitchen, enhancing guest satisfaction and driving sales.

Key responsibilities

• Take guest orders via telephone and enter them correctly into the POS system.
• Coordinate with waiters, waitresses, and minibar attendants to fulfill orders.
• Maintain personal grooming standards and wear the proper uniform at all times.
• Monitor inventory, reduce waste, and follow opening and closing procedures.
• Handle guest enquiries, report complaints promptly, and follow up with supervisors.
• Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and complies with health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with at least 1 month of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication and selling techniques.
• Professional appearance and punctuality.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to changing department needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using a POS (Point of Sale) system.
