In-room Dining Order Taker – Local Hire

About the role

The In-room Dining Order Taker provides courteous, professional service to hotel guests, handling telephone orders and ensuring accurate entry into the POS system. This role supports the Food & Beverage team in delivering high‑standard service and maximizing guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with wait staff and minibar attendants to ensure seamless service.
• Take guest orders via telephone, post them correctly in the POS system, and communicate with kitchen and service teams.
• Maintain punctuality, proper uniform, grooming standards, and personal hygiene at all times.
• Provide knowledgeable upselling of food and beverage items and suggest alternatives.
• Monitor supplies, reduce waste, and ensure the work area remains clean and organized.
• Execute opening and closing procedures for the assigned outlet.
• Handle guest enquiries and complaints promptly, reporting them to supervisors.
• Adhere to hotel policies on fire safety, hygiene, health, and overall conduct.

Required profile

• HND/Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a food‑and‑beverage service role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, collaborate with a team, and provide proactive solutions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
