Medical Detailer – Eastern & Ashanti Regions

About the role

The Medical Detailer will support Marie Stopes International’s mission to improve access to family planning and reproductive health services across the Eastern and Ashanti regions of Ghana. Working directly with private pharmacies and Ghana Health Service facilities, the role focuses on product promotion, quality monitoring, and capacity building.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits to identified clients (pharmacies, health facilities) and provide progress feedback.
• Compile and analyse surveillance indicators for outlets to enhance drug monitoring activities.
• Monitor drug quality standards and sales performance, ensuring high volume and compliance.
• Document major drug shortages or distribution issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform outlet assessments, quality audits, and arrange training for partner pharmacists on MSI‑marketed products.

Required profile

• HND or higher in Marketing, Sales Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years post‑national‑service experience in pharmaceutical sales.
• Proven experience in client relationship management.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure, with high integrity and a passion for field work.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
