Non-Financial Risk Head

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for a Non-Financial Risk Head in Accra to lead, manage and deliver an integrated and independent Risk Management Function. The role manages non-financial risks so that the country can seize growth opportunities while balancing client and stakeholder interests, protecting the safety and soundness of the enterprise, upholding ethical standards and providing assurance on control and risk status.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and deliver an integrated and independent Risk Management Function
• Manage non-financial risks in a way that balances client and stakeholder interests while protecting the safety and soundness of the enterprise
• Ensure ethical standards are adhered to and maintained
• Provide assurance on the control and risk status for the country

Required profile

• Master's degree in any relevant field of study
• 10+ years of experience in Risk Management, Operational Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit or Enterprise Risk within financial services
• Proven experience leading non-financial risk frameworks, governance and control assurance
• Strong track record in risk oversight, regulatory engagement and executive-level reporting
• Experience influencing Executive Committees, Board Committees and senior stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership in building high-performing teams and embedding a strong risk culture
• Preferred: banking experience and exposure to enterprise-wide risk management in a complex, regulated environment
