Financial Accountant

About the role

Ownkey, Ghana's leading real estate marketplace, is hiring a Financial Accountant for a contract position based in Accra with a hybrid arrangement combining on-site collaboration and some work from home. The accountant prepares, reviews and analyses financial statements, ensures accuracy and compliance with relevant standards, and reports to management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable records
• Prepare periodic financial reports and support budgeting and forecasting
• Provide analytical insights to guide business decisions
• Work with cross-functional teams, use accounting software, and assist with audits, tax filings and internal controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification (e.g. ICA, ACCA, CPA) is an advantage
• Strong foundation in finance and financial reporting, able to prepare and interpret financial statements
• Analytical skills for variance analysis, trend identification and data-driven recommendations
• Knowledge of accounting standards, taxation principles and regulatory requirements in Ghana
• Attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and teamwork in a hybrid setting; previous experience in real estate, technology or a growth company is beneficial
