Project Controls Manager – West Africa Mining Project

About the role

The Project Controls Manager will lead the controls function for a major gold mining development in West Africa. Reporting to the Project Director, the role provides visibility on cost, schedule, risk and progress to ensure the project stays on track.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost control, planning, scheduling, forecasting, progress measurement and reporting across the project.
• Develop and maintain an integrated master schedule and robust cost control processes (budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, forecasts, EAC).
• Monitor performance against baseline, produce weekly/monthly reports, dashboards and KPI updates.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, contracts, finance and operational readiness teams.
• Support change management, assess cost and schedule impacts of scope changes, and conduct schedule risk analysis and recovery planning.

Required profile

• Extensive project controls experience in mining, minerals processing, infrastructure or large capital projects.
• Proven track record delivering engineering, construction, commissioning and ramp‑up phases of mining projects.
• Strong analytical ability to turn complex data into clear management information.
• Experience working with senior leadership, EPC/EPCM contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous experience on African or remote mining projects is highly advantageous.
