Remote Rust Software Engineer (Contract)

About the role

We are building large‑language‑model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets focused on realistic software engineering problems. As a Remote Rust Software Engineer you will help create verifiable SWE tasks from public repository histories, automate development environments, and assess LLM performance on real code.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and triage GitHub issues across trending open‑source libraries.
• Set up and configure code repositories, including Dockerization and environment provisioning.
• Evaluate unit‑test coverage and overall code quality.
• Modify and run codebases locally to benchmark LLM bug‑fixing capabilities.
• Collaborate with researchers to select challenging repositories and design evaluation scenarios.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on project tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of professional software engineering experience.
• Tech‑lead level competence with complex codebases.
• Strong proficiency in Rust.
• Solid experience with Git and Docker.
• Comfortable running, modifying, and testing real‑world projects locally.
• Experience contributing to or evaluating open‑source projects is a plus.
