Research Assistant – Systematic Review (Remote)

About the role

Voima, a healthcare startup focused on proactive chronic‑care solutions, is seeking motivated Research Assistants to support systematic review and evidence‑synthesis projects on digital health in Sub‑Saharan Africa. This remote, unpaid collaboration offers the chance to contribute to publishable research and be listed as a co‑author.

Key responsibilities

• Search, screen, and assess scientific articles for eligibility.
• Extract, chart, and organize data from selected studies.
• Assist with evidence synthesis, data analysis, and visualisation.
• Contribute to manuscript drafting, editing, and authoring.
• Participate in weekly research meetings and discussions.

Required profile

• Strong interest in digital health, public health, AI, or related fields.
• Excellent attention to detail and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to read, interpret, and summarise scientific literature.
• Good written communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Familiarity with literature databases such as PubMed, Scopus, or Web of Science.
• Experience with reference‑management tools (e.g., Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley).
