Risk Analyst – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

We are looking for a Risk Analyst to join our global team remotely. The role focuses on identifying, assessing and mitigating operational, financial and reputational risks across our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively monitor platform data to detect emerging risks such as payment fraud, account takeovers, spam, phishing and synthetic identity networks.
• Query large datasets using SQL and Python (or R) to uncover attack vectors and quantify abusive behavior.
• Design and implement rules, models and workflows that prevent fraudulent activity while minimizing friction for legitimate users.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Finance and Legal to embed risk controls throughout the product lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as a primary responder during high‑impact risk events, making rapid decisions to contain losses and protect user trust.
• Build dashboards and reports to track key risk indicators and communicate findings to leadership.
• Provide feedback on internal risk tools and work with engineers to improve detection automation.
• Assist in evaluating and integrating third‑party risk intelligence vendors.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis, fraud intelligence, trust & safety analytics or financial crime investigations within tech, e‑commerce or fintech.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Python, R or similar data‑analysis languages.
• Ability to translate raw, messy data into actionable insights and present technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of common attack vectors (chargeback fraud, promo abuse, botnets, deepfakes) and mitigation techniques.
• Familiarity with AML, KYC, GDPR or PSD2 compliance frameworks.
• Proactive, curious mindset and capability to lead cross‑functional initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
