Security Officer

About the role

A hospitality organisation operating in Accra is looking for a full-time, on-site Security Officer. The role protects guests, staff and property by monitoring entrances and exits, patrolling the premises and enforcing access control. The company values safety, service excellence, collaboration and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor entrances and exits and patrol the premises
• Check security systems and surveillance equipment daily
• Respond to incidents or alarms and complete incident reports
• Enforce access control procedures
• Collaborate with front office and operations teams and assist in emergency response
• Support compliance with safety policies and local regulations

Required profile

• Relevant experience in security, law enforcement, military or a similar protective services role, preferably in hospitality or customer-facing settings
• Secondary education; additional security certifications or training are beneficial
• Ability to stand, walk and patrol for long periods and respond quickly to security issues
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of security procedures, access control, patrolling techniques and emergency response protocols
• Observation, problem-solving and incident reporting skills
• Effective communication and respect for guests, colleagues and partners
• Familiarity with basic computer systems or security technologies such as CCTV and access control systems is an advantage
