Senior Accounting Officer

About the role

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, compliance and timeliness of Shalina Healthcare Ghana’s financial records and reporting. This position focuses on financial reporting, ledger analysis, internal controls, audit readiness and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and perform detailed ledger analysis.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, ensuring completeness and integrity of all accounting records.
• Oversee books of accounts in line with applicable accounting standards and company policies, reviewing journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Conduct periodic internal audits, identify control gaps and track implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian statutory, tax and regulatory requirements, including preparation and filing of VAT, PAYE, corporate income tax, SSNIT and withholding tax returns.
• Assist the Finance Manager in coordinating external, statutory and tax audits, preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting professional with strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain disciplined accounting practices across multiple business functions.
• Experience in leading internal audit reviews and supporting external audit processes.
