Senior Sustainable Finance E&S Consultant – West Africa

About the role

SLR is expanding its Sustainable Finance practice across West Africa and seeks a senior consultant to lead the development of lender‑compliant advisory services. Based in Accra, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality sustainability solutions for international financiers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the strategic growth of Sustainable Finance services in West Africa.
• Identify and secure new project opportunities that meet international lender requirements.
• Forge strategic partnerships with local stakeholders and international financiers.
• Integrate best‑practice environmental and social standards into project delivery.
• Provide thought leadership and produce lender‑compliant project documentation.
• Manage large‑scale, complex projects and coordinate diverse stakeholder groups.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in environmental management, environmental science or a related field.
• 8+ years of consulting experience with a proven record of leading projects.
• Deep knowledge of West African environmental and social regulatory frameworks.
• Strong familiarity with international lender standards (IFC, World Bank, EDFIs).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a plus.
• Willingness to travel across West Africa.

• Advanced report writing and peer‑review proficiency.
