Senior Transitions Consultant

About the role

The Mastercard Foundation is seeking a Senior Transitions Consultant to join its Secondary Education and Transitions (SET) platform. Based in Accra and the Tema region, you will provide high‑level strategic and technical advice that shapes education systems and creates pathways for African youth to move from school to meaningful work.

Key responsibilities

• Offer strategic guidance on education policy, program design, and implementation across the SET portfolio.
• Design and support innovative initiatives that strengthen secondary education and improve transitions into employment or entrepreneurship.
• Advise on partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and government relations to scale impact.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, governance, and learning frameworks to ensure program effectiveness and sustainability.
• Lead thought‑leadership activities, research, evidence generation, and policy engagement to influence the broader education ecosystem.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in education, international development, or related sectors.
• Proven ability to work with senior government officials, development partners, and education institutions.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills combined with practical execution experience.
• Mission‑driven mindset with a passion for improving youth outcomes across Africa.
