Superintendent, Drilling & Evaluation

About the role

The Superintendent, Drilling & Evaluation will lead field exploration, grade‑control execution and resource evaluation at the Iduapriem Gold Mine. You will ensure drill data is collected safely, cost‑effectively and to strict QA/QC standards while supporting the mine’s production and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drilling and evaluation activities, providing strategic oversight of program planning and execution.
• Generate and maintain grade‑control and resource models using ordinary kriging, model checks and geological wire‑framing.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, mid‑year and annual reconciliation using Datamine tools and compare model predictions with plant performance.
• Develop and apply geological modelling, geostatistical methods and XRF models with Leapfrog Geo, Leapfrog and Datamine Studio UG.
• Mentor and develop direct reports, driving succession planning and a high‑performing team culture.
• Ensure all Mine Geology activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, local cultural norms and third‑party agreements.

Required profile

• BSc (Hons) in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Ability to obtain a Minerals Commission competency certificate.
• Valid Ghanaian driver’s licence.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including senior mineral resource evaluation responsibilities.

Required skills

• Ordinary kriging estimation and geostatistical modelling.
• Geological wire‑framing and grade‑control modelling.
• Proficiency with Datamine tools, Leapfrog Geo, Leapfrog and Datamine Studio UG.
• Experience with XRF modelling, sampling and assaying methodologies.
• Knowledge of SAMREC and JORC mineral resource reporting codes.
• Understanding of drilling, exploration, grade‑control and reconciliation value chains.
