Taxi Driver Scout – Driver Recruitment & Training Manager

About the role

The Taxi Driver Scout will lead the recruitment, onboarding and training of new drivers for Urban Cars ADL in the Accra & Tema region. The role combines driver management, compliance checks and daily performance monitoring to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified drivers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies to attract new drivers, publishing ads on relevant platforms.
• Contact candidates, explain working conditions, and guide them to the office for registration.
• Maintain a reserve of at least 50 qualified drivers ready to sign lease agreements.
• Conduct driver orientation, explain company policies and the Yango driver application.
• Train drivers on using the driver app, completing trips efficiently and maximizing earnings.
• Provide daily post‑onboarding support and coaching during the first two weeks.
• Run daily driver satisfaction surveys and report feedback to the supervisor.
• Verify candidate identity documents, ensure smartphone and internet access, prepare lease agreements and enter driver/vehicle data into the Optimum system.
• Prepare and submit daily reports on advertisements, applications and registrations.

Required profile

• At least one month of experience in driver recruitment, onboarding or related HR functions.
• Familiarity with Yango partnership terms, driver policies and registration procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly with candidates and provide detailed guidance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets.
• Experience using Opteum software.
• Experience using the Optimum driver management system.
