Team Leader – Women's Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Programme

About the role

The Team Leader will serve as the central representative for the Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Dividend Policy & Systems programme, overseeing its implementation across seven African countries. Reporting to the Programme Director, the role combines technical leadership, programme management and stakeholder coordination to drive demand‑driven technical assistance for sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Key responsibilities

• Guide Country Leads in developing and executing annual, demand‑driven technical workplans.
• Coordinate programme delivery and management with the Regional Finance and Operations Manager and the Programme Management Unit.
• Ensure timely, high‑quality completion of technical deliverables and robust financial management.
• Monitor payment KPIs, log‑frame targets and value‑for‑money commitments.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the FCDO on programme strategy, technical leadership and day‑to‑day management.
• Support iterative learning and adaptation across the programme’s flexible technical assistance offer.

Required profile

• Proven experience overseeing multi‑country technical assistance programmes in the health sector.
• Strong understanding of policy, financing and institutional bottlenecks affecting SRHR outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with government partners and international donors.
• Excellent leadership and coordination skills for managing diverse country teams.
