Accountant

About the role

The Hospital seeks a diligent Accountant to manage its financial records, reporting, payroll and statutory compliance. You will work closely with the Finance & Operations Manager and the Finance, Tax & Compliance Consultant to ensure accurate financial operations across all hospital departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate books of account, record transactions, and perform bank and cash reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, supporting schedules, and assist in annual financial statements.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews and produce required financial analyses for management.
• Process monthly payroll, compute PAYE, SSNIT and other statutory deductions, and file statutory returns on time.
• Reconcile revenue, manage accounts receivable/payable, monitor NHIA and corporate receivables, and prepare supplier payment schedules.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitor expenditures, maintain the fixed asset register and participate in inventory counts.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls and report any irregularities.
• Support continuous improvement of financial systems and implement recommendations from senior finance staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of practical accounting experience, including management accounts and payroll administration.
• Progress towards ICA Ghana, ACCA, CIMA or CPA is an advantage.
• Experience in the healthcare sector is a plus.
• High integrity, strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
