Architect – Design & Construction Oversight

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Architect to lead the translation of approved designs into on‑site construction. The role serves as the primary architectural authority, ensuring quality, compliance, and seamless coordination across project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review architectural designs from lead architects for alignment with project requirements and constructability.
• Conduct pre‑construction design risk assessments to identify constructability and cost risks.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and details for implementation by project and site teams.
• Monitor on‑site execution of approved designs through regular site visits.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, contractors, and subcontractors on architectural details and finishes.
• Control design‑related cost escalations and manage architectural variations.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other consultants to ensure integrated design delivery.
• Review and approve material submissions, finishes, and construction methods.
• Ensure compliance with local building regulations, zoning laws, and statutory requirements.
• Support permit acquisition, approvals, and inspections.
• Maintain architectural documentation, design standards, and project records.
• Approve mock‑ups and sample rooms before bulk execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Registered with the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA) or equivalent professional body.
• 5–8 years of progressive architectural experience, including 3–5 years in construction or real‑estate development.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large‑scale projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project‑management capabilities.
