Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

The Assistant Financial Controller will support the finance team of a leading upscale hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with local tax and IFRS standards. This role is essential for maintaining robust accounting controls and delivering timely financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of financial and accounting control best practices.
• Conduct accounting and auditing tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with departmental heads to gather data and meet reporting deadlines.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff on financial procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar financial control role within the hospitality industry.
• Solid understanding of financial & accounting control best practices, local tax systems, and IFRS reporting standards.
• Demonstrable accounting and auditing skills.
• First‑degree qualification; MBA or professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to train and lead team members.
