Assistant General Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Assistant General Manager, Operations will support the overall management of hotel operations, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day functioning across front office, housekeeping, food & beverage and other service areas. This full‑time, on‑site role is based in Accra and focuses on maintaining high guest satisfaction while driving operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee service delivery standards in all hotel departments.
• Coordinate shift plans and manage staffing schedules.
• Monitor occupancy, revenue performance and key operational metrics.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations and hospitality standards.
• Supervise, coach and develop team members, addressing guest concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with department heads to optimise workflows and improve guest experience.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control, financial reporting and operational improvements aligned with strategic goals.

Required profile

• Strong general and operations management experience in hospitality or a service‑focused environment.
• Proven team leadership, staff supervision and performance monitoring abilities.
• Excellent customer service skills with a guest‑centric mindset.
• Practical experience in budgeting, cost control and basic financial reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel management systems.
• Competence in common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
