Chef – Local & Continental Cuisine

About the role

Hops and Chops Restaurant is seeking a full‑time Chef to lead daily food preparation and cooking of both local Ghanaian and continental dishes. The role is based on‑site in the Ahafo Region, Ghana, and focuses on delivering consistent quality and memorable culinary experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and develop menus that blend local flavors with international cuisine.
• Organise kitchen operations, schedule food preparation, and ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Supervise and assign tasks to kitchen staff, fostering a respectful and team‑oriented environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory, manage food costs, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure ingredient availability.
• Contribute innovative ideas for new menu items and collaborate closely with restaurant management.

Required profile

• Proven culinary expertise in preparing Ghanaian and continental dishes.
• Ability to plan menus, manage preparation schedules, and handle multiple orders efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen sanitation practices.
• Leadership experience in supervising kitchen staff and promoting teamwork.
• Basic inventory and cost‑management skills with a focus on waste reduction.
• Relevant culinary training, apprenticeship, or certification preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
