Chemistry Subject Matter Expert (Pod Lead) - Remote

About the role

This is a remote contract position as Pod Lead for Chemistry Science, working 10 weeks at 40 hours per week. The role leads a team of trainers who develop chemistry tasks for AI training, and reviews them for chemical accuracy, reproducibility and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of trainers developing chemistry tasks for AI training
• Review tasks for chemical accuracy, reproducibility and safety
• Mentor trainers while ensuring high-quality delivery
• Analyze and evaluate training content for grader reliability
• Provide guidance on programming standards and practices
• Collaborate with teams on computational chemistry methodologies
• Communicate findings and updates to project stakeholders

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent advanced expertise in Chemistry
• Previous experience leading or mentoring technical teams
• Ability to review code and analyses effectively
• Strong analytical and written communication skills

Required skills

• Strong programming in Python, C/C++, Julia or Fortran
• Hands-on experience with computational chemistry methods
• Proficiency in Linux/terminal environments
