CIC Technician – Process Plant

About the role

The CIC Technician – Process Plant will support the refurbishment and ongoing maintenance of the Process Plant at the Obuasi Gold Mine. Reporting to the CIC Supervisor, you will work day and night shifts to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of critical instrumentation and control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with Ghanaian government, environmental, health & safety, and AGAG regulations.
• Accept personal responsibility for health and safety of self and all workers affected by your tasks.
• Gather and report performance data to the CIC Supervisor.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of refurbishment and maintenance activities.
• Provide input for condition‑monitoring routes and execute scheduled checks (visual, infrared, ultrasonic, motor‑current, flux, simple NDT, calibration verification).
• Analyze predictive‑maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc.) and report plant condition.
• Monitor physical condition of CIC assets, initiate preventive or corrective actions, and perform repairs on instrumentation, communication, and control equipment.
• Generate work requests in SAP for planning and scheduling.
• Perform routine condition‑monitoring on rotating equipment using portable data collectors.
• Collect and diagnose vibration and other data to troubleshoot rotating machinery problems.
• Participate actively in maintenance review programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) experience in plant instrumentation, control, or condition‑monitoring roles.
• Self‑motivated, experienced, and able to work independently on day and night shifts.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ability to produce accurate reports and work collaboratively with supervisors.
