Manager - Short Term Planning & Scheduling

About the role

The Manager – Short Term Planning & Scheduling leads the creation and execution of short‑ to medium‑term mine schedules, ensuring they align with operational priorities and business planning. You will be responsible for detailed short‑term and rolling three‑month schedules, providing integrated inputs for performance monitoring and compliance tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated short‑term and rolling 12‑week mine schedules.
• Validate schedule assumptions, activity durations, operational constraints and sequencing logic.
• Monitor schedule performance, physical progress and variance against plan.
• Coordinate with operational and technical teams to incorporate inputs and ensure schedule readiness.
• Support continuous improvement of scheduling tools, processes and standards.
• Allocate at least 30% of time to site safety compliance and promote a zero‑harm culture.
• Mentor Scheduling Engineers and junior staff, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 8 years) in mine planning or scheduling.
• Proven ability to lead scheduling teams and mentor junior personnel.
• Strong commitment to safety and AngloGold Ashanti values.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to interact with cross‑functional teams.
