CIC Technician – Underground

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine and seeks an experienced CIC Technician for the underground operation. The role involves maintaining and refurbishing control, instrumentation and communication systems to ensure safe, efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned and corrective maintenance on underground CIC equipment, excluding winding systems.
• Perform visual inspections, infrared, ultrasonic, motor‑current, flux and simple NDT data collection.
• Analyse vibration, IR and other condition‑monitoring data, generate trends and report findings.
• Create work requests in SAP for maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Support the CIC Supervisor in developing monitoring routes and continuous‑improvement actions.
• Participate in root‑cause failure analysis and maintenance review programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in underground control, instrumentation or communications maintenance.
• Senior‑level competence with a strong focus on safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed task instructions and adhere to Ghanaian and company safety standards.
