CIC Technician – Underground

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a fully mechanised underground operation. The CIC Technician – Underground will support the maintenance and refurbishment of control, instrumentation and communication systems, ensuring safe and reliable production.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned and corrective maintenance on underground CIC equipment, excluding winding systems.
• Perform visual, infrared, ultrasonic, motor‑current, flux and simple NDT inspections.
• Collect and analyse predictive maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc.) and generate condition‑monitoring reports.
• Generate work requests in SAP for repair planning and scheduling.
• Assist the CIC Supervisor in developing condition‑monitoring routes and continuous‑improvement actions.
• Conduct periodic audits of refurbishment and maintenance activities against safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 5 years) in underground mining maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environmental and Ghanaian regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently, follow total‑quality‑management principles and achieve zero‑defect objectives.
