Clearing Officer – Customs & Port Operations

About the role

The Clearing Officer will support Kasapreko PLC and its affiliates in managing customs clearance and port operations for imports and exports in Ghana, primarily at the Tema port. Reporting to the Clearing Supervisor, the role ensures timely and compliant movement of goods while minimizing demurrage and related charges.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, process and verify all customs documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, permits and certificates.
• Coordinate with clearing agents, shipping lines, port authorities and regulatory bodies to secure timely clearance.
• Track shipments from arrival to final delivery, monitoring timelines and updating status reports.
• Resolve customs‑related issues, including delays, discrepancies and documentation errors.
• Ensure compliance with Ghana Customs regulations, proper classification, valuation and duty payments.
• Maintain accurate records of all clearance transactions and support audit requirements.
• Liaise with procurement, warehouse and finance teams to synchronize logistics activities.
• Assist in preparing logistics and clearance reports, including cost tracking and performance metrics.

Required profile

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3–4 years of post‑national‑service experience in customs clearance or related logistics functions.
• Basic working knowledge of Ghana Customs procedures and systems (GCNet/ICUMS).
• Good organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and willingness to learn.
