Cluster Business Manager – Retail Banking

About the role

The Cluster Business Manager will lead a group of retail banking branches, driving new business acquisition, deepening existing customer relationships, and ensuring profitable growth of the balance sheet and P&L. The role combines strategic oversight, operational efficiency, and strong market insight to meet the bank’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire new retail banking customers and expand existing relationships.
• Execute lending and deposit sales while maintaining a healthy loan portfolio.
• Oversee the balance sheet, P&L performance, and operational efficiency across the branch cluster.
• Implement branch strategies, manage people, and coach teams to achieve growth targets.
• Monitor retail market trends, consumer behaviour, and mass‑market activities in Ghana.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.

Required profile

• First‑degree holder in a relevant discipline; postgraduate degree in a financial field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience and at least 8 years of proven sales track record in retail banking or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of consumer behaviour, credit writing, balance‑sheet analysis, and P&L management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, make decisions, and drive results with minimal supervision.
