Commercial Systems Analyst

About the role

The Commercial Systems Analyst will support Africa World Airlines' commercial IT environment, ensuring the reservation, ticketing and revenue management systems operate efficiently and meet business needs. This role acts as the bridge between end‑users, technology partners and internal departments to deliver reliable system solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document user requirements for new systems and enhancements.
• Prepare detailed specifications for IT solution providers.
• Coordinate testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and manage system releases.
• Liaise with other departments to define data interfaces between commercial and operational systems.
• Serve as the single point of contact for resolving system issues with external providers and partners.
• Facilitate integration of Africa World Airlines systems with partner platforms.
• Resolve GDS‑related problems, negotiate billing discrepancies and improve processes with travel agents.
• Analyse CRS/GDS costs, identify waste and implement cost‑reduction practices.
• Manage control tables for airport printers, route control values and access codes.
• Create and maintain flight schedules, pseudo‑city codes and office profiles in reservation systems.
• Provide help‑desk support to sales, revenue management, airport and flight operations teams.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Information Management, Business Management) or equivalent experience.
• Previous system support experience, preferably in the airline industry.
• Strong data‑analytic capabilities.
• High integrity, strategic thinking, resilience and problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• GDS (Global Distribution System) knowledge.
• CRS (Computer Reservation System) familiarity.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience.
• Data analytics proficiency.
