Communications Media Relations Internship – Accra, Ghana

About the role

UNICEF Ghana is seeking a National Intern to support its Communications team in media relations. The 26‑week internship offers hands‑on experience in media engagement, content creation, and advocacy communications, contributing to UNICEF’s public visibility in Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update media contact lists and databases.
• Assist with outreach to journalists, bloggers, and media outlets.
• Support the organization of press briefings, interviews, and media events.
• Help draft press releases, talking points, and other communication materials.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare summary reports.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
• Strong interest in child rights, advocacy, and international development.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
