Communications Officer

About the role

Industry Immersion Africa (iiAfrica) is seeking a Communications Officer to lead the creation and delivery of compelling content that showcases its programmes across Ghana. Based in Accra/Tema, you will work closely with programme teams, partners and donors to ensure consistent, high-impact messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, edit and proofread a variety of communication materials including stories, newsletters, briefs, presentations and speaking notes for internal and external audiences.
• Support the implementation of communications plans and campaigns, ensuring all outputs align with iiAfrica and partner branding guidelines.
• Maintain and update the organisation’s website and social media channels, monitor engagement metrics and assist with digital content production.
• Coordinate communication with partners, participants, alumni and other stakeholders, managing timelines and cross-team inputs.
• Document programme activities through interviews, photographs and impact narratives, and organise archives of all communication assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven experience in communications, public relations, media or digital content development.
• Excellent written English, strong editing skills and the ability to translate programme impact into clear, engaging stories.
• Detail‑oriented with a solid understanding of brand consistency and visual presentation.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities to manage multiple deadlines.
