Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

About the role

St Michael's Specialist Hospital, a private hospital in Lapaz, Ghana, is recruiting a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with an interest in coronary intervention to expand its Clinical Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology programmes. The role offers the chance to practice cardiology and high-acuity interventional cardiology in a well-established private hospital, in a full-time position starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cardiac interventions including coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and pacemaker and ICD implantation in the hospital's cardiac catheterization laboratories
• Manage acute coronary syndromes, including primary PCI with a rapid on-call response
• Admit patients inpatient, manage procedures and provide ongoing ward care
• See patients as outpatients for interventional and general cardiology, including pre- and post-procedural care
• Perform and interpret cardiovascular diagnostics such as echocardiography, stress testing, Holter monitoring and ECGs
• Work closely with cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, emergency medicine, nursing and cardiovascular technologist teams

Required profile

• Cardiology certification and minimum of 5 years of post-certification experience after specialist registration
• English fluency is non-negotiable
• Experience delivering high-quality inpatient, outpatient and procedural cardiology care
• Strong patient-doctor communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

What we offer

• Gross salary of USD 49,992 to 60,000 per year, paid in local currency, with additional income from procedural volume and productivity incentives
