Contracts Specialist – Site Facilities Maintenance

About the role

The Contracts Specialist – Site Facilities Maintenance will support the Obuasi Gold Mine redevelopment by managing contracts, monitoring progress, and ensuring maintenance activities meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Apply total quality management principles and maintain zero‑defect and safety standards.
• Follow the site’s Environmental Management Plan.
• Monitor surface infrastructure progress and prepare compliance reports.
• Audit process plant and facilities equipment maintenance.
• Review contract refurbishment and maintenance functions for continuous improvement.
• Provide improvement recommendations to the Engineering Manager and Superintendent.
• Collect and verify contractor performance data, conduct regular and spot checks.
• Analyse maintenance data, report plant condition, and trigger corrective actions.
• Generate SAP work requests for maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Diagnose contractor work quality and timeliness, ensuring contract adherence.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and propose savings projects.
• Stop unsafe contractor activities and report risks to the Superintendent.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Maintenance Engineering or equivalent.
• Commercial and project management experience, supported by relevant courses.
• Paralegal qualification is an advantage.
• Proven experience in contract management within a mining or industrial environment.

Required skills

• SAP for work request creation and scheduling.
