Contracts Specialist – Site Facilities Maintenance

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine and seeks an experienced Contracts Specialist to manage site facilities maintenance contracts. You will ensure contractual compliance, optimise plant availability and support the transition to a fully mechanised underground operation.

Key responsibilities

• Apply total quality management principles to achieve zero‑defect outcomes while maintaining safety standards.
• Monitor progress of surface infrastructure projects, gather data and produce compliance reports.
• Conduct audits of process plant and facilities equipment maintenance contracts.
• Review refurbishment and maintenance contracts, identify improvement actions and communicate recommendations to engineering leadership.
• Collate information from maintenance and reliability teams, perform routine and spot checks on contractor performance.
• Analyse contracted maintenance data, trend results and report plant condition for corrective action.
• Generate work requests in SAP for maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot contractor work quality and timeliness, ensuring adherence to contract terms.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities, propose savings projects and support housing improvement programmes.
• Report directly to the Superintendent of Surface Support Infrastructure.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years (84 months) of experience in contract management within industrial or mining environments.
• Strong understanding of maintenance processes, asset health monitoring and environmental management plans.
• Proven ability to analyse data, generate actionable insights and drive continuous improvement.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and capable of working onsite in a fast‑paced mining setting.
