Deputy General Manager – Banking

About the role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the Deputy General Manager position in our reputable and fast‑growing banking organization. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and support the implementation of Board policies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement policies formulated by the Board of Directors.
• Define, develop and implement clear and measurable objectives of the bank.
• Ensure proper financial books and records are kept.
• Bring statutory directives and regulations to the attention of the General Manager and Board.
• Compile and submit reports and returns to ARB Apex, the Bank of Ghana and other institutions timely.
• Compile procedures regarding internal control systems and ensure security precautions over assets.
• Identify and design training needs of staff and directors.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance or Banking, with professional qualification (ICA/ACCA/CIB); MBA is an advantage.
• At least 10 years post‑qualification experience in the financial and banking industry, with minimum five years in a management role.
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills, confidence to engage with Board members, clients, employees and community groups.
• Ability to adapt to a difficult working environment and work under pressure.
• Must be at least 45 years of age.
