DevOps Engineer

About the role

Complete Farmer, an end-to-end agricultural marketplace connecting African farmers to global markets, is hiring a DevOps Engineer. You will design, implement and maintain the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools that keep its platforms secure, scalable and reliable, working closely with engineering teams to automate workflows and ensure high availability for web, mobile and data services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS/Azure/GCP) for production, staging and development environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple applications
• Automate provisioning, configuration and scaling with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Monitor system health, performance and security compliance with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic or Datadog
• Manage containerization with Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS
• Work with software engineers to optimize builds and improve release speed
• Set up logging, alerting and on-call rotation, and ensure backup, disaster recovery and business continuity
• Enforce cloud security, access control and network best practices, and review cloud costs regularly
• Support audits, maintain documentation and mentor developers on DevOps best practices

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands-on DevOps or SRE experience in high-availability production environments
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and collaborate across teams

Required skills

• A major cloud platform (AWS preferred) and IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Docker and Kubernetes or ECS
• Linux administration, networking fundamentals and shell scripting
• Monitoring, logging and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or Datadog
