Director of Academic Planning & Quality Assurance

About the role

University of Cape Coast is seeking a senior academic leader to head the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA). Reporting directly to the Vice‑Chancellor, the Director will shape the university’s strategic planning, programme monitoring and quality assurance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, review and monitoring of all academic programmes across the university.
• Lead the university‑wide quality assurance system, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and mechanisms to maintain high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee accreditation processes and liaise with external quality bodies.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on academic standards and institutional effectiveness.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised scholar of professorial rank with a PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Extensive teaching, research and senior administrative experience in a university or comparable institution.
• Strong grounding in total quality management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams.
