Director of Allied Health Services

About the role

The Board of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) is seeking a senior professional to lead its Allied Health Services. This strategic position provides leadership, direction and expert advice to senior management while overseeing research, training and service delivery across allied health disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate short‑, medium‑ and long‑term plans and budgets for Allied Health Services.
• Implement governance, infection‑control and quality‑assurance systems for allied health science.
• Support, monitor and evaluate programmes that enhance clinical care effectiveness.
• Design and manage clinical information systems and field programmes ensuring sustainability.
• Supervise technical support for allied health activities and partner implementations.
• Lead the design and application of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
• Collaborate with recognized institutions to coordinate research and postgraduate training.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Allied Health Science and a first degree in a relevant allied health field.
• Registration in good standing with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Ghana.
• At least 10 years of allied health experience, including 5 years in a senior management role (Deputy Chief/Deputy Director grade).
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving, advocacy and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑player skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
