Director of Research, Innovation & Outreach

About the role

The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) at the University of Cape Coast seeks a visionary leader to head its Research, Innovation, and Outreach Directorate. Reporting to the Director‑General, you will shape strategy, drive groundbreaking research, and expand the Institute’s impact locally and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership aligned with the Governing Board’s approved Strategic Plan.
• Ensure compliance with statutory policies, governance frameworks, and institutional mission.
• Lead strategic planning, policy formulation, implementation, and review for research, innovation, and outreach activities.
• Foster a culture of innovation across research methodologies and service delivery.
• Coordinate and develop the Institute’s overall research agenda, prioritising interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Oversee outreach programmes that translate research outcomes into community benefits.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience (minimum 10 years) in research management, innovation, or related academic leadership.
• Proven track record of securing research funding and managing large‑scale projects.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education governance and policy environments.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
