Electrician Journeyman - Lead (Tier 3)

About the role

Fluor is seeking a Lead Journeyman Electrician (Tier 3) to plan, install, and maintain electrical systems on construction projects in Accra. The role combines hands‑on wiring work with supervision of a small crew, ensuring all installations meet local codes and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, fixtures, and control equipment according to codes and manufacturer recommendations.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to route concealed wiring before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
• Cut, bend, thread, and assemble conduit; pull wiring through conduit with assistance.
• Splice and terminate wires using stripping tools, soldering, or crimping, and secure connections with tape or caps.
• Install and fasten switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels, and other distribution apparatus.
• Connect power and ground leads to motors, HVAC units, and other equipment.
• Test continuity and functionality with ohmmeters, multimeters, buzzers, and oscilloscopes; troubleshoot and repair faulty systems.
• Provide supervision for crew members and ensure safety compliance on site.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (or comparable education/experience).
• 4–7 years of related electrical experience, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
• Valid electrician certification, license, or degree as required by local regulations.
• Ability to read, write, and understand technical documents and safety procedures.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring installation and repair.
• Conduit cutting, bending, and threading.
• Interpretation of blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Use of hand and power tools for electrical work.
• Testing with ohmmeter, multimeter, buzzer, and oscilloscope.
