EMR Lead - Equipment Maintenance & Repair

About the role

The EMR Lead is responsible for operating Maersk Equipment Maintenance & Repair (EMR) activities in a specific location, keeping containers maintained and repaired to the required quality standards while achieving optimal cost efficiency. The role acts as the technical focal point between Maersk, depots and repair vendors, driving supplier performance, operational excellence, quality compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily EMR operations for the assigned location and monitor equipment out-of-service status to keep repair shops productive.
• Analyze daily operations to spot faults and problems, and propose SOPs for specific operations.
• Monitor suppliers on quality and productivity, and run periodic depot audits of repair shops to check inspection and repair quality and corrective actions.
• Support Procurement in identifying potential EMR suppliers and help initiate end-to-end cost-saving initiatives, including transport and storage costs.
• Manage relevant systems to ensure data quality and liaise with Area Equipment teams on ground issues.
• Own and manage the supply and evacuation of equipment across transport modes, and drive cost control through unit cost management and analysis.

Required profile

• Experience in container operations, depot operations, equipment management, shipping, logistics, transportation or supply chain.
• Experience managing suppliers, vendors, repair facilities or third-party service providers.
• Cost-conscious mindset, able to challenge repair estimates and drive cost-effective outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Advantageous: experience in container maintenance and repair, depot operations or the shipping industry.

Required skills

• Operational and cost analysis, and monitoring of operational performance and quality standards.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair processes, or willingness to develop technical expertise.
• Experience with operational systems, reporting tools and data quality management.
