English Language Teacher

About the role

The Victoria Grammar School is seeking a dedicated English Language Teacher to join its secondary department in Accra. This full‑time, on‑site position involves delivering the Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level curriculum to learners and fostering strong language skills across reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging English lessons that align with the Cambridge curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and resources for secondary classes.
• Assign, mark and provide constructive feedback on student work.
• Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and report to parents or guardians as needed.
• Maintain classroom discipline and create a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions and school activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources and improve instructional practices.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level for secondary education.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Cambridge Curriculum for secondary students.
• Passion for teaching and working with children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
