Faculty - Algorithms and Computation

About the role

Ashesi University, a non-profit multidisciplinary university in Ghana, is seeking faculty with expertise in Algorithms and Computation to join its Computer Science and Information Systems Department. The department aims to educate ethical, innovative leaders who understand the link between theory and practice and are skilled in applying computing principles. Faculty help shape the curriculum, strengthen teaching and learning, and contribute to research and supervision.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field; a master's degree with relevant teaching experience will also be considered for adjunct lecturers.
• Willingness to work in a team to develop and deliver an innovative, world-class curriculum.
• Willingness to teach in a participatory environment, with demonstrated hands-on teaching capability.
• Willingness to engage in research and supervise undergraduate projects.
• Familiarity with the liberal arts method of instruction; an undergraduate education at a liberal arts college is a plus.

Required skills

• Ability to design and teach three or more of the following courses: Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete Structures and Theory, Linear Algebra, Algorithm Design and Analysis, Modelling and Simulation, Parallel and Distributed Computing.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in at least two languages.
• Demonstrated capability in the use of computer technology and excellent written and verbal communication.
